A fantastic option for smaller caravans, camper trailers and even 4WDs, slide-out kitchens are a versatile and compact addition to any camping setup that allows you to save space and still cook a proper meal.
This Dometic slide-out kitchen is the larger model in their range and even puts some home kitchens to shame. Built on top of two heavy-duty sliding rails, this kitchen is designed to fit in a rear drawer, tunnel boot or side hatch, and is constructed almost entirely from lightweight stainless steel.
Staying true to Dometic's trademark user-friendly design, this slide-out kitchen features a prep space, three-burner gas stove, moulded sink and chopping board up top, with built-in dual side storage below to keep your cooking utensils secure. Secure, durable and dependable, this space-saving slide-out kitchen is immensely popular with camper trailer and 4WD owners alike, and you are sure to encounter many of them in your travels.
Another product that is hugely popular with the 4WD and car-camping community, this rooftop tent is spacious, lightweight and can be set up in a matter of minutes.
Inside, a 5cm thick high-density foam mattress is large enough to fit two adults and guarantee a good night's sleep. The tent's shell is constructed from a two-layer fabric that is waterproof and highly UV-resistant (UPF50+ rating) while also offering excellent thermal insulation.
Integrated fly screens allow you to ventilate on hot nights without letting the bugs in, while the tent fly has a 3000mm water-head rating that will keep even the worst storm out. All of this is attached to a lightweight frame made from aluminium alloy, with a telescopic aluminium ladder to help you climb in and out.
Once you remove the tent from its water-resistant PVC cover, setup takes less than a minute and can be done with the included remote control, which draws power from your vehicle's 12V system. If you want a durable rooftop tent that will keep you comfortable in any conditions, you can't go wrong with this Dometic Rooftop 4WD Tent.
Whether you're in a caravan, camper or motorhome, a reverse-cycle air conditioner is a must if you're planning to travel around Australia. The Dometic Harrier Plus is a roof-mounted reverse-cycle air conditioner and one of the most powerful and efficient models on the market.
Able to be fitted to roof openings of both 360mm and 400mm, the lightweight, low-profile inverter is easy to install and has a minimal impact on your vehicle's aerodynamics when you're on the road. Additionally, its dual-cylinder compressor delivers lower energy consumption, noise and vibration so that you'll hardly even notice when it is on.
Inside, the air distribution box (ADB) is almost invisible, sitting flush with the ceiling to offer the maximum amount of headroom. The ADB has a four-speed fan along with a turbo mode for rapid heating and cooling. With a cooling capacity of 3kW, this unit will have no problems keeping you comfortable, no matter what the temperature is outside, with an operating temperature range of -5°C to 52°C.
With an included remote control and mounting bracket, the Dometic Harrier Plus puts comfort at your fingertips, ensuring that you are able to focus on your adventure instead of the thermometer.
Continuing with air conditioners, the Dometic CoolAir RTX 2000 is a model focused on commercial drivers instead of the recreational market and offers many advantages over other truck coolers.
One of the main advantages is that the RTX 2000 draws power from the battery and not the truck's engine, meaning drivers don't need to leave their trucks idling for hours overnight, burning expensive fuel and creating unnecessary emissions.
In order for the engine to still be able to start, the RTX 2000 has an incredibly low power draw of only 9.5A that allows it to run for up to 6 hours in hot temperatures before the battery monitor automatically turns it off. In addition, the dual compressor used in the RTX 2000 ensures whisper-quiet operation so that drivers can rest when they need to without being disturbed.
Designed for the limited space of a truck cab, the RTX 2000 delivers 2000W of cooling capacity in four operating modes through a sleek, low-profile A/C unit housed within the roof of the truck. With a remote control for easy operation and adjustments, the RTX 2000 continues Dometic's legacy of success in the commercial vehicle cooling sector.
As great as they are, you can't always rely on solar panels, and when that time comes, a petrol generator can be a literal lifesaver. Designed to be mounted in or underneath a vehicle, the Dometic TEC 29 Petrol Generator is a compact, efficient and high-output generator and an excellent primary or backup power source.
Housed in a durable stainless steel casing, the Dometic TEC 29 has a flexible footprint that makes it suitable for both internal and external mounting. Where the TEC 29 really shines however is its performance, offering a continuous power output of 2600W and peak output of 2900W, with a maximum fuel consumption of only 1.9L/h.
The built-in inverter uses this output to generate 230V of pure sine wave electricity, allowing you to power any major appliances you may have in your vehicle. Moreover, the TEC 29 can be connected in parallel to boost its power generation to 4800W while maintaining an output of 230V.
With quiet operation and an anti-vibration design, the Dometic TEC 29 is built for life on the road and capable of keeping the lights on without you ever knowing it's there.
For trucks that cannot use a roof-mounted evaporator or cooling unit (such as those with emergency exit hatches) the Dometic SPX 1200C is the perfect option.
Mounting inside the rear wall of the cabin, this evaporator pairs with a powerful 1200W compressor to cool and dehumidify the vehicle, helping drivers feel more comfortable and well-rested. Similarly to the RTX 2000 mentioned above, the SPX 1200C draws power from the truck battery, and features low-voltage protection to reduce strain on the battery and ensure you can get on the road the next day.
Each unit comes with a vehicle-specific installation kit that makes the SPX 1200C easy to install and guarantees 100% clean removal should you ever need to swap it for something different.
With a convenient remote to control both air flow and temperature, the Dometic SPX 1200C is an efficient and highly-effective evaporator that will keep you cool in your truck.
As you have seen, Dometic can pretty much do it all - but these are only a fraction of the products they offer. Whether you're planning a short trip or an extended getaway in a camper, caravan, motorhome, or even your car, Dometic can help you make the most of your adventure.
